Whatta nice, relaxin weekend..

Ya.  Right.  Whenever the Van Horn High School function is over.  Momma said if they don't turn their crap down over there, she's gonna blow a gasket and a couple transformers.  Bzzt!  Party's over.  : )..  Lol.  Go momma!

Here's some fun stuff for the weekend.  Here's a duck that momma and daddy bought us last week.  Here it is before I really got started....

Here's what it looked like after I worked on it a little....

Momma said gas prices cost an arm and a leg, so I tried to help!  Woof!  I'm such a good boy!  : )..

Here's a couple pictures of my very cute, older sister.  I wuv my sister.  She's such an awesome pawsome!  Woof!  Woof!   Woof!  : )..

Momma had to adjust our baby gate.  Ha!  I told you I could run like lightnin!  Guess what??  I can jump like a frog too!  I can not only jump and climb up and over that baby gate (Ha!  It's for babies!), but I can also jump on top of that box!  Now, I just have to work on clearing both of those hurdles!  I can do it!

Whew.  Let's take a breather for a minute.  This picture was taken while the bear was still here.  Look how tired I was!  I was out like a light, safe by my momma's foot!

Momma had to work around the house today, all while enduring the school noise from a block away.  She rode Forest Gump around the back yard and cut our grass so it didn't look like crap out there anymore.  Speakin of crap, you shoulda seen her havin to scoop bear scat with a shovel.  Lol.  Whew.  All gone.  : )..

Alrighty, momma said she's gotta go scoop more bear scat outta the front yard and then try and cut the grass out there too!  We're gonna watch from the safe confines of the front window!  We'll let'er know if she missed a spot!  Cya later!!

The bear has gone home with her family! : )..

I can run and play, and run and play, and run and play!  I can patrol my house and make sure that everyone is safe, although the bear made sure of that while she was here, too!  Thanks Big Bear!  : )..  Thanks for keeping our house safe!  No one would have tried breakin in here with her by the door!  Yikes!  She'd have eaten them for sure!  She never ate me!  Yay!  I'm still here, alive and kickin.  And JUMPIN!  I figured out that I can jump up and climb over our baby gate!  Lol.  It's no match for me!  I can do it!  Yay!  I'm so big!  Here's some pictures of me playin outside with my sister yesterday!  We had fun!  It was soo nice.

Look at those big teeth!

Is the bear over there?  No.  Just Jackson and Daisy.  Is it over there?  Nope.  Just Katie and Harley D.

Is it..  In the house?  Yup!

Look how fast I am!  I tell ya, I'm like lightnin!  Whoosh!
There I go!  Whee!  Look at me go!  Run like da wind!

Alrighty!  I gotta go help scoop some bear scat.  (momma says it's bear..  umm..  i mean newfoundland poop.  lol.  anyone wanna help?)

I'm in hiding. Shhhh.

Ok. So in my terror filled moments I finally got close to the bear. I laid at mommas foot without barking and being delirious with fear. However, yesterday, I got a little over excited and started nipping at the bear. You shouldn't do that more than once. I really think she wants to eat me now! Momma keeps distracting her and getting her away from me. I tried puppy kisses this morning to make friends with the bear! She still tried to chase me, so now momma says she will be keeping us separated for the duration of the bears stay. I am getting to play in the house right now cause momma and the bear are outside. I'm gonna go find a nice spot and take a long nap!

OMG! : O....... Lion's and Tiger's and BEARS! Oh My!!

Ok.  Remember when I said I could take care of bears?!  Scratch that!  ACK!!!  OMG!!!  NOO!!!  HELP!!!  There's one in our house!!!  Really!!!  Help me!  Help me!  Help meeeeeeee!  This thing is HUGE!  HUGE I TELL YA!!  Emmy says she's not scared of it!  I am!  I'm still yittle!  I saw my short life flash in front of my eyes!  You should see this bear!  Look!  Look how BIG it is!!  I'm tellin ya!  It's HUGE!!  HUGE I SAY!!

OMG!  It's going to EAT me!  Is it still there?  I can't bear to look! (lol)

On a lighter note, it's momma's birthday today.  She swears that the bear isn't really a bear but a sweet little puppy that is just here for a while.  I'm not so sure.  It looks like a bear to me!  It's HUGE!  Isn't it??!!  She swears that the bear won't eat me and just wants to play with me.  I hid under the bed and barked at it.  Beware!  You should see what I ..  Oh yeah..  Nevermind!  I am scared of bears!  Ok..  Changing the subject!  Look at the pretty picture of the green, green, green trees that momma took.  Aren't they great?  I bet that bear is as big as those trees!  Bigger even!  Ack!  (there is a BEAR in our house!  did i say that before?)  Anyway, here's the tree picture!

Momma said that Spring is her favorite season because everything turns green and warm weather is here instead of Fall when everything turns brown and all we get is snow.  I like snow.  Snow is great!  Do you like (ACK!  THERE. IS. A. BEAR. IN. OUR. H.O.U.S.E!!) snow?  I like warm weather too.  Emmy and I go outside a lot when it's warm.  Wait!  There was a bear in our yard too!  Look!

Look at her teeth!  My bear, what BIG teeth you have!  (the better to eat you with, my dear)  Noo!  Ok.  Momma said the bear's momma said she doesn't like to eat furry four legged critters, but likes string and soap and a few other inanimate objects.  I'm trying to be brave, but it's not easy with a bear in the house!  Ack!  I'm going to go hide now!  Ya'll take care and wish me well!  Later!
(unless the bear has eaten me....)

I can't wait to see them in person.  Emmy said they were great.  She said there was a little Scottish Terrier there that she wanted to play with.  Scottish Highland Games sound great!

Whew...

Jackson came over and played with us on Sunday.  He needed a bath, so Daddy and Uncle Steve gave him one.  He also got his hair trimmed, he had a lotta hair covering his eyes and some near his nose that had gunk in it.  He looked a lot better, smelled a lot better and was a happy little puppy after they were through!  He ended up spending the night with us after that.  His momma and daddy never called or came looking for him, but once he went home the next day, he's been living inside their house at night.  : )..  You are welcome, our little friend, you are welcome.  Here's a picture of him gettin his bath...

After he went home on Monday, I got to spend a little quality time with momma.  She was rubbin my tummy.  I like that!  It makes me so happy.  : )..  Can you tell?

Again, aren't I just the cutest little puppy you have ever seen?  I'm mean, c'mon!  How could you resist a face this cute?  You can't!  You are under my spell!  You will do as I say!  Bring me some Pupperoni!  Stat!  : )..  Just kiddin.  (no i'm not, i could really use some pupperoni!  you are still under my spell, right?)

Emmy and I finally decided to take a moment and pose for you.  It doesn't happen often, and momma never has her camera ready when it does.  Lol.  We move like lightnin!  Lightnin I tell you!  Whoosh!  Anyway, that's our new green, spiky, squeaky ball that we got at Petco this weekend.  It already lost the squeaker though!  We'll still play with it, even if it doesn't squeak any more.  I like playin, playin's great!  Do you like playin?  We like to play!  It's so much fun!

Alrighty!  Gotta go find our non-squeaky ball and play for a while before momma has to go to work!  Cya later!!  Lightnin I tell ya!!
; )..

We got to go to the puppy store today!

Yay!  We went to the puppy store today!  We got a new spiky, squeaky ball to play with.  Here's a picture of me on the way to the puppy store!

I like the puppy store.  It's a lotta fun!  There are puppies there!  There are kitties there!  There are people who will pet you and rub your tummy!  There's toys and treats..  I love the puppy store!  After that, I helped Daddy BBQ (and eat!) some chicken!  It was delicious!  Yummy!

I like chicken!  It's sooo yummy!  Do you like chicken?  I like chicken.
Later, I posed for some pictures.

After supper, Daddy built a fire outside.  Shhhh.  Lol.  Nah.  We didn't start a fire outside.  No sir!  : )..  (uh huh, we really did!)

Alrighty, I've had a long day.  Think I'll take a cat nap.  Later!

My sixth month birthday.. : )..

Emmy and I got our haircut, nails trimmed and baths to make us smell good....  We also got two toys, balloon alligators that squeak..  Here's our pictures..  : )..  I didn't wanna sit still for mine..  Can u tell?

Guess what momma got?  A speeding ticket from the KCPD for doin 77 in a 65.  : (..  Bad cop!!  : p..

Fluff and Rubber..

We had a great time playing with our toys this morning.  However, I don't think the toys would agree.

Big floppy, one eared dog say, "What?!"

We ran around like chickens with our heads cut off..  Err..  Ripped off..

Here are some earlier shots of me, back when I was just a baby.  I wasn't very old.  Tomorrow is my sixth month birthday.  We are getting up early and going to see Liz at Deogi Pointe for a haircut.  I can't wait!

One eye duck says, "Hmm.  I see."

People make the BEST squeaky toys when you bite them on the foot!  You should hear them go!

This is one of momma's favorite pictures of me.  I have to admit, I am pretty darn cute!  They say boys are made of snails and puppy dog tails?  If they are attached to this puppy, I'm betting they are better than girls with sugar and spice anyday!

And this is the first time that Daddy held me.  It was the day I came home to live with my family.  I was scared, but I'm not any more.  I have an older sister who plays with me, toys galore, food to eat, a warm bed to sleep on, people to protect, dogs, squirrels, birds and cats to bark at!  This place isn't so scary after all!  Here's to another happy six months!  Woohoo!

Our weekend.. : )..

We got to spend the entire weekend with Momma.  She played with us, snuggled with us, took a little nap with us.  It was great!  Jackson came over a couple times and played too.  It won't be like that for long.  We are getting some railroad ties to put along the torn up fence so that we don't have dogs chewing on the chain link fence and getting under it.

Here's some of my oldies but goodies.  Here's a video of me when I was a little puppy (I'll be six months on the 13th!).  Look what I can do to knotty chew bones!

Here's a picture of me during my first real snow.

Wasn't I such a cute little puppy?  I'm getting big now.  I was over 15 pounds last week.  I wonder how big I am now?  I'm bigger than my older sister!  I stand taller, and I'm huskier.  That's ok, though, boys are supposed to be bigger.  : )..  Speakin of my sister, I'm gonna run and play with her for a bit.  Later!

We got new toys!

Momma bought us each a new toy at the dollar store yesterday!  She bought us a blue shark and a killer whale.  Here's what they looked like yesterday!  Look how cute they are!

Here's us playin with them yesterday afternoon before momma went to work!

Here's what the whale looked like last nite.  Green Peace would not be happy!  Lol.  (you should see what I can do to bears and beavers, too!)

Here's what the shark looked like last nite!  Emmy wouldn't let me play with it!  : (..  Sniff.

Her toy was still intact.  : (..  She wouldn't let me have it.  Don't you feel sorry for lil' ole me?  Hmm?
She let me play with it today though!  Woo!  Hoo!  Look at me go!

And finally..........

It wasn't the shark's day either.
Oh well, I'm off to find more toys!
Cya later!!

Huh?

Momma had a laughing, wheezing, crying fit today. She was looking at this on her phone and we aren't sure if she's ok or not. Check it out!

Yo momma so big, she wore a tight pair of yellow pants and bent to pick up a quarter. Three guys got in. Thought it was a yellow cab.

(we don't get it. Why are you laughing, wheezing and crying?)

...

                                                                India Arie - "Little Things"
 Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Been around the whole world, still ain't seen
Nothin' like my neighborhood
And of all the fancy satin and silk
My white cotton feels so good

Searched high and low for a place
Where I can lay my burdens down
Ain't nothin' in the whole wide world
Like the peace that I have found

(It's the little things) It's the little things
And the joy they bring
(The little things) It's the little things
And joy they bring

As simple as a phone call just to make it known
That you're gonna be a little late
Pure as a kiss on a cheek and a word
That everything will be okay

Call in the mornin' from my little sister
Singin' to me, "Happy Birthday"
In the quest for fortune and fame
Don't forget about the simple things

(It's the little things) It's the little things
And the joy they bring, yeah
(The little things) It's the little things
And joy

Give me some good food, give me cute shoes
Give me some piece of mind
Bring me some sunshine, bring me some blue sky

Runnin' 'round in circles, lost my focus
Lost sight of my goal
I do this for the love of music
Not for the glitter and gold

Got everything that I pray for
Even a little more
When I ask to learn humility
This is what I was told

(It's the little things) It's the little things
And the joy they bring, it's the little things
(The little things) It's the little things
Oh...hee...

Give me my guitar, give me a bright star
Give me some good news, give me some cute shoes
Give me Atlanta, give me Savannah
give me my peace of mind

Give me some Stevie, give me some Donny
Give me my daddy, give me my mommy
Pour me some sweet tea, spoonful of honey
I don't need no Hollywood

Timmy err.. Jackson fell down the.. err.. got stuck under the fence!

Our Uncle Steve came to finish fixing our fence last night and we are so glad that he did!  Not only for fixing our dilapidated fence!  But for saving our friend Jackson!  He was trying to crawl under our fence and come to visit us on our back porch while we were incarcerated in the house and got his collar stuck on the wire!  Hard telling how long he'd been there when Uncle Steve came over.

Uncle Steve RACED to his rescue once he discovered the predicament Jackson was in!  Jackson was going crazy!  He was biting the bad wire!  He was bleeding from the mouth!  Uncle Steve jumped the fence and grabbed his wire cutters.  After cutting the wire and still not freeing the tangled collar, he grabbed his knife and cut the collar off, freeing our friend!  Thanks Uncle Steve!  U da man!  Woof!  Woof!  Woof!

Jackson tried shaking it off, but was kind of weaving around.  He's fine now, you would never know that he was stressed out, except for the fact that he isn't wearing a collar.  He stopped bleeding after Uncle Steve took care of him.  His mommy and daddy still haven't asked what happened or why his collar is laying, cut, on the ground.  My Uncle Steve, momma and daddy would have asked by now!  : (..  Poor Jackson.

He was back, trying to get under our fence this morning, and this time he succeeded.  Momma fixed the fence again and put him back over on his side.  Uncle Steve wants to keep Jackson and take him to his house to live with his boxer, Dee.  We like Dee!  She's BIG, but she's fun!  : )..  We love our Uncle Steve!  He's the best!

I was so worried about our friend that I started foaming at the mouth this mornin.  See?
Ha!  Don't worry!  I'll letcha in on a little secret!  It's duck butt stuffin!  : )..  Fooled ya, didn't I?!
Gotta go tear some more out!  Cya later!

Man! Whatta zoo today!

We played with a horse!  She was huge!  She got through another hole in our fence, can you see our daddy patching the hole?  We ran and ran and ran, I couldn't quite catch her until she started wearing down.  Her name is Daisy.  Jackson came back over through the fence to run and play too.  We even got to play with the new husky puppy, Sparkles.  She came over too.

We eventually came inside, and then I mauled a duck!  I did!

Emmy had fun mauling her "lamby" too!

And then! We found a frog!

I don't think it was the duck's day.

I think I need a nap.  Anyone wanna cuddle?

Woof? Another crazy day? (aka timmy fell down the well)

Emmy's favorite person in the whole wide world came over today.  Uncle Steve came by, and she was soo happy.  Lol.  She loves her some Uncle Steve!  He brings treats!  He brings toys!  He brings SQUEAKY toys!  We love us some Uncle Steve!

However, he brought over some of his friends that we aren't too fond of.  One is little, about doggie sized.  It has a lotta, lotta, lotta teeth and makes an awful racket!  Varoommmmm, nananananananananananananan, buzzzzzzzzzzz, nananananananan, buuuuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, nananananannananana, varooobuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.  You couldn't even hear me barking through that, could you?  Trust me!  I was on my J.O.B. barking away.  Furocious as furocious could be!  That thing didn't listen to a word I said!  : (..  Buzzzzzzzzzzzz!  Nananananananana!

I finally made my way through the door and outside where I could get at that thing!  Unfortunately, it was too high for me to reach, so I settled for biting Uncle Steve's jean leg instead.  Hey!  It stopped that thing!  See?  You're safe now!  Milo the great is on the job.  That thing is no match for me!  Have you seen what I can do to bears and beavers yet?  Lol.  And knotty chews too.

I'm stuck back inside, but can see through the back door's glass that he's got some kind of stick now!  What can that be?  It's pushing down into a bucket and makin a lotta, lotta noise.  Bark!  Bark!  Bark!  "They're mixing concrete Milo", says my momma.  I'm not so sure I like that.  But I'd love to have that stick!  I love sticks.  Sticks are great!  Sticks are so much fun!  Emmy and I helped move some sticks for momma today.  She was pulling brush off our fence yesterday and we helped pull it to the gate this afternoon.  Emmy grabbed a loose stick and I grabbed it with her!  We had sooo much fun, running and growling and tumbling together.  It was great!  I love sticks.  Sticks are great.  Do you like sticks?  Sticks are..  Buzzzzz!  Bark! Bark! Bark! Whew.  Momma closed the door.  Another crisis averted by me, Milo.  Woof!

Just another crazy day.

It all started at 7am yesterday morning. My momma was blissfully sleeping with me at the foot of the bed, keeping watch over her.  She was totally unaware of the chaos that was about to ensue.

Chirp!  Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark! My sister, Auntie Em, or Emmy as we fondly call her, and I immediately sprung into action!  My momma's in danger!  Stop!  Who goes there?!  Halt!  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!  Emmy waivered and decided to hide under the bed.  I, however, am on the job!  I jumped off the bed and raced to the front door.  No one gets past me!  You should see vat I do to bears and beavers!  Grrr.

No one was there.  I patrolled the hall.  Nothing there either.  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark! "Calm down, Milo, it's just the battery in the smoke detector downstairs."  Oh.  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!  I'm not so sure.

She went to get a new battery and returned.  She put it in.  Silence.  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark! "What the..." she asked.  Don't worry, momma, I've got it covered!  She called the people at her work.  After looking for a hush button and not finding one, she took the smoke detector down.  I watched, fascinated, barking occasionally at each chirp.  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark! She unhooked the alarm system.  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!  She started upstairs and I followed, bound and determined to save her from impending doom.

She tried pulling the attic door, screamed (I was there!  in a flash!) and let it slam shut.  A huge spider fell out and ran across the floor.  I like spiders, but that one was HUGE!  I don't know how he fit through that door!  Well, alright, it wasn't THAT big, but he was huge!  She killed him with a shoe, saying, "ughhgh" all the time.  He's not dead yet!!  His leg is detached and twitching!  Ack!  Kill it!  Kill it!  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!

By this time, we know there has to be another smoke detector somewhere, but daddy's still sleeping.  How can he sleep through all of this?  There is something dangerous in the house!  Is it a bear?  I can handle bears.  Is it a beaver?  I've got them covered too.  Squirrel?  I'm on it!  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!

Daddy finally gets up and comes upstairs.  After a few minutes, momma has a flashlight in hand, and finally discovers that it is only an old, dying carbon monoxide detector that keeps chirping.  Chirp! Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!  Wheee!  e  e  e  e....  It squealed when she took it out of the wall and then finally.  Silence.  Chirp?  Nope.  Silence.  Blissful, beautiful silence.  Ahh..  Bark! Bark! Bark! Bark!  Squirrel!
